Sulmu Ltd.
We have a long history and extensive experience in the provision of industrial corrosion-protection solutions.
We started operations in 1925 under the name Oy Sul-Mu Ab. In the early decades of operation, the company manufactured fire- and corrosion-resistant masonry and mortar.
In the 1960s, the company began to manufacture corrosion-resistant products from glass-reinforced plastic, including pipes, tanks, hoods, flue gas absorbers, and flues. In a short time, Sul-Mu became one of Europe's leading companies in the field.
In the 1980s, Sul-Mu was transferred to the ownership of Neste and KWH-Pipe, with operations expanding and becoming more international.
Since 1996, the company has been privately owned, with the exception of the period between 2012 and 2013, when it was part of the Plasticon group.
In 2025, Momentum Group AB becomes the owner of Sulmu.
Today, Sulmu is more experienced, agile, and flexible than ever before.

1925 | Oy Sul-Mu Ab
Corrosion and fire resistant mortars & brickworks.
1960’s | GRP
Within 10 years quite a remarkable company in it’s field in Europe. Pipes, basins, siloes, smoke-stacks, oil tanks.
1980’s | The proportion of GRP is growing
As the proportion of GRP increased, brickworks were discontinued in the early 1980s.
1985 | Sulmu's share capital was transferred to Oy Muotekno Ab
The owners were KWH Pipe Oy and Neste Oy.
1992 | Neste Oy acquired the entire share capital.
Sulmu, Muotekno, and Plastilon were merged. The new name became Plastilon Oy.
1995 | Neste Oy went public
Neste's stock exchange listing.
1996 | Management By Out
Sulmu Oy was founded and acquired the installation business of Plastilon Oy.
2012 | Sulmu Oy became part of the Plasticon Europe group
Plastilon Oy, a member of the Plasticon Europe group, acquired the entire share capital of Sulmu Oy.
2013 | Sulmu Oy returned to private ownership
The company became privately owned again when the management team repurchased the entire share capital from Plastilon Oy.
2025 | Sulmu Oy has been acquired by Momentum Group AB
Momentum Group AB has acquired the entire share capital of Sulmu Oy.
